Silent Knight Stables (SKS) in Krum, Texas offers north Texas a professional, yet affordable opportunity to train with the best. At SKS new riders unlock their potential and experienced riders refine their skills. This family owned and operated barn provides a sage environment for young women and men to develop into confident, competent adults.
SKS offers full service training and professional education in English riding (Hunter/Jumper and Equitation). SKS also offers boarding, training, sale, leasing and transportation of horses.
Owner, Shannon Flanagan believes the rider and horse are a team and encourages building a strong relationship through time spent together. Students at SKS learn not only to ride, but to perform all aspects of horse and tack care. Students learn the skills necessary to compete at their chosen level.
Students do not receive a “cookie cutter” training program, SKS trainers cream a customized training program for each rider, specific to their skills, abilities and goals. SKS offers flexible scheduling, understanding that not everything works for everyone. Shannon guides students to the plan that will encourage their success.
SKS Sutdents can participate in the North Texas Hunter Jumper Association (NTHJC) local show, and United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) A-Circuit sponsored events. SKS offers the added benefit of sponsoring an Interscholastic Equestrian Association (IEA) Zone 7 Region 4 High School and Middle Team on premises. IEA team participation prepares students who wish to ride competitively at the college level.
Horse Care and training is paramount at SKS. Twenty-four hour on site care is provided for all horses. Understanding that horses are social, herd animals, SKS offers a turn out program for each horse. Most horses are turned out with other horses at least once a day. Individual horse turn-out is also available. Each horse has a specialized training program to meet their needs depending on their show schedule. Silent Knight Stables uses Theraplate Therapy to assist in their horses training.
